Senior Advisor, National Security Review

Gatewell Group builds the evidentiary records that Covered List applicants put in front of federal reviewers. We are looking for someone who has sat on the government side of that table to advise on how those records are read.

This is an advisory engagement, not a job. We are not asking you to leave anything.

What you would do

• Review draft Conditional Approval packages before filing and tell us where a reviewer would push — ownership chains, supply-chain concentration, the gap between a manufacturing intention and a manufacturing contract.
• Advise on beneficial-ownership disclosure structure, including the 5% disclosure threshold and board nationality and residence questions.
• Help shape the Gatewell Protocol's evidence standards so they answer the questions reviewers actually ask rather than the ones applicants expect.
• Occasional client sessions where an outside read carries more weight than ours.

Who this is for

• Federal experience in ICT supply-chain risk assessment, foreign-ownership review, or equipment security review. Backgrounds we would expect: DHS, Commerce/BIS, the Department of War, or Team Telecom.
• You have run or contributed to interagency reviews and can describe how a package moves and where it stalls.
• You are able to advise without a live conflict, and you will tell us where the line is before we cross it. We would rather scope narrowly than put your standing at risk.

Engagement and compensation

• $250 to $400 per hour, invoiced against a scoped engagement. Quarterly retainer available if you prefer predictability.
• Roughly ten to thirty hours a quarter, clustered around filings.
• Fully remote. No travel expected.
• Advisory-board recognition is available if you want it and declinable if you do not — several people in this field prefer not to be listed, and that is fine.

We screen every engagement and every hire against OFAC/SDN, and we do not take PRC-nexus work.
